Why Decouple Your Duck

Decoupling in Nonconformist Ducks is an innovative feature that allows you to modify your OG and Hell Ducks. This process is part of our move towards dynamic NFTs, offering customizable intellectual properties (IPs) and strengthening our unique deflationary mechanisms.

The Decoupling Machine went live on March 9, 2023.

Key Benefits of Decoupling

IP Building:

Customize your duck to fit your style, contributing to the creative diversity within the Nonconformist Ducks ecosystem.

Tokenomics and Deflation:

Decoupling helps in maintaining the rarity and value of ducks by limiting the number available for IP deals.

Exclusive Deals:

As seen with our partnership with WenGoods and Nonco Gummies, decoupling opens doors to unique collaborations and projects.

How to use the Decoupling Machine

1. Connect:

• Visit the Decoupling Site:
  https://decoupling.nonconformistducks.com/

• Connect your wallet to access the Fire Pit.

• Toggle between your OG and Hell Duck collections.

Tip: Want to test it out first, click TRY IT OUT! to go to the Playground.

2. Choose Your Ducks & Traits:

• Select 4T ducks as your canvas on the LEFT side.

• Select 5T or higher trait ducks on the RIGHT to add those traits to your inventory.

  • Example: If you have a 5T Radioactive Duck, you will burn the Radioactive body and have all the traits remaining including the background.

3. Burning and Building:

• 'Burn' your chosen ducks.
  Note: Burning a 4T duck adds eyes, beak, and background to inventory, while the body moves to 'Build Your Duck'.

• Head to 'Build Your Duck' to start assembling your unique duck.

4. Finalizing Your Creation:

• Once satisfied, click 'Mint' to finalize your new duck.

• Refresh the metadata on Opensea to view your creation.

• You can disassemble and re-mint your duck as many times as you like.

• Remember, minting and disassembling do not incur gas fees.

Important Tips BEFORE Decoupling

• Claim your $QUACKS before you burn

  • Check your $QUACKS here: https://staking.nonconformistducks.com/

• Pilled ducks that are burned will lose their pilled-up capabilities.

• The only transaction fee that you pay is when you click Burn. There are minor gas fees for burning.

• Minting & Disassembling DO NOT cost gas fees.

• You can NOT decouple the following:

  • Horseducks

  • Demons

  • Angels

  • Zombies

  • Upsides

  • 2nd Gen Ducks

Magic Boxes

Magic Boxes offer an exciting dimension of exclusivity and fun to customize your ducks! You never know what you’re going to get and the boxes could hold OG or Hell traits. It’s the best chance to upgrade your duck with rare and exclusive traits.

Types of Magic Boxes:

Mystery Box (20,000 Quacks):

Acquire unique Beaks & Eyes.

Rare Box (50,000 Quacks):

Unbox exclusive Hair/Hats traits.

Legendary Box (100,000 Quacks):

The ultimate box packed with Clothes/Accessories.

Key Features:

• Exclusivity: These boxes hold never-before-seen traits.

• Limited Quantities: The total supply of these traits is kept low, ensuring their rarity and value.

• Purchase with $QUACKS: Magic Boxes are available exclusively in exchange for $QUACKS.

How to Get Magic Boxes:

• Keep an eye out! Magic Boxes drop sporadically, often when DuckMaster is feeling generous, usually during late-night peak Netflix hours.

• Find Magic Boxes on the Decoupling Site.

Upside Ducks Heist - Stealing Traits

Upside Ducks have the unique ability to steal traits. Here are a few tips to protect your traits.

Securing Your Traits

You must own Upside Ducks to lock traits.

1. Access Your Inventory: Log in to your Decoupling platform and open your inventory.

2. Lock Your Traits: Click on the traits you want to protect. A locked trait will have a blue background.

3. Confirm Security: Ensure that the traits you want to protect have turned blue, indicating they are securely locked.

Key Points to Remember

• Stealing Capability: Unlocked traits in your inventory are at risk of being stolen by other Upside Ducks once a month.

• Loss of Traits: If a trait is stolen, you lose it from your inventory.

• Syncing Upside Ducks: Use the "Sync Upside Ducks" button to link your Upside Ducks from your wallet to your Decoupling platform. This ensures that any stolen traits during a heist are added to your account.

• Minted Traits on Decoupled Ducks: If you have traits that are already minted on a decoupled duck, there’s no need to lock them; they won’t appear in your inventory and are safe.

• Unminted Traits on Decoupled Ducks: Traits on a decoupled duck that aren’t minted can still be stolen. Make sure to mint your ducks and lock traits if they appear in your inventory.

• Vulnerable Traits: Any visible, unsecured traits in your inventory are open to theft.

So if you don’t have Upside Ducks, be sure to mint traits onto a 4T duck to secure any valuable traits.
